Meet Alicia Viforj

Clinical Psychologist & Founder of Zen Mind Psychology

I enjoy developing authentic connections with my clients and to help them build coping strategies, resilience, self-acceptance and self-worth.

I completed at Bachelor of Psychology in 2006 with a minor in Child Development and a Master of Applied Clinical Psychology in 2010. Since then, I have been registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and I am registered as both a Medicare and Ancillary health provider. As well as having spent many years in Private Practice, I have worked for a Women’s Domestic Violence Refuge and as a Clinical Psychologist for the Department of Child Protection, for the Infocus counselling program seeing adolescents and adults and with online Telehealth services.

I currently work individually with adults and I also see adolescents. I draw on several Therapeutic Models when working with clients including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am happy to discuss types of therapy with you at your first appointment and assist you to set your goals and a meaningful treatment plan based on your individual needs.
